Between typical and different stories, there is no scope for stereotypical stories but 'Vaarasudu' falls under the second category, we have seen many movies with this kind of old stories but this movie works for Tamil audiences definitely 'Vaarasudu' doesn't work for Telugu audience. The film goes with the old commercial format and does not bring anything new as the film is purely made for Thalapathy fans. The first half goes with regular stuff like the introduction of the hero, then a song, a family problem, and a love track of heroin, after that the movie would have been good to some extent if the conflict was good. However, the movie has all the elements if you are a fan of commercial and family drama films.
The second half also has the same pace and the same treatment but this time the emotions are in higher doses and are good for some time at one point, it feels like a lecture about the importance of a family and their bonds but with this whole track the family audience can connect and but Dalapathy Vijay It is very difficult for the rest of the community except for the fans. The fact is that 'Vaarasudu' is an amalgamation of Navadeep's Gautham SSC, Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapuram, Srimanthudu, and several Telugu films.
Talking about Vijay's performance, Rashmika Mandana was good in the songs, but her acting failed, as this kind of role was a cakewalk for him, and the rest of the cast Jayasudha, Sarathkumar, Srikanth, and Prakashraj played their parts to suit the story.
Technically 'Vaarasudu' is top notch Karthik Palani's visuals make the movie rich and Thaman S is the backbone of the film, he has done an amazing job, be it the songs or, he has elevated many scenes in the movie with the background score. The rest of the technical team has done well.
Vamsi Paidipally rose to fame with a few films like Oopiri and Maharshi and getting a chance to do a film with Thalapathy Vijay was a great opportunity, but he went with a routine and old subject as he did here. Even if the movie 'Vaarasudu' is well dealt with, this movie will not be remembered for long. Overall, 'Vaarasudu' is an old-school family drama that won't appeal to everyone and is purely made for Dalapati fans.
