In recent days, fans have been debating a lot about which trailer was most anticipated between Spider-Man: No Way Home and Avengers: Endgame, and now the definitive answer seems to have arrived. As reported by Variety, the first look at Jon Watts' film has in fact become the most viewed trailer ever in the first 24 hours.
With 355.5 million views obtained globally in its first day of life, the movie has in fact far exceeded the 289 million obtained in 2018 by the Russo brothers' film event. According to Sony Pictures, the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer also garnered the most social media mentions ever in the first 24 hours, with 4.5 interactions coming from around the world. In the US alone, the film nearly doubled Endgame's earnings over the same period: 2.91 versus 1.94 million.
This is obviously an incredibly positive sign for Sony Pictures, as we are talking about the blockbuster that boasts the second highest-grossing in film history behind only James Cameron's Avatar, all while the uncertainties of the box office in pandemic times continue. In short, in the hope that the theaters will restart as soon as possible at full capacity, it seems that Spider-Man: No Way Home has all the credentials to sign the highest-grossing ever for Sony.
